Chris has been diving since 1986. He graduated from the College of
Oceaneering in Underwater Welding. He has worked as a safety diver
in the movie industry and worked underwater salvaging. Chris was an
avid recreational hunter, until he met his wife, who put a camera in
his hands. Ever since, he has been shooting underwater since 2000.
Chris' work has been featured on FOX News, Wealth TV, and in a
documentary "Sea of Demons: Demonio Rojo 'The Truth Behind the
Humboldt Squid.'" He has documented Great White Sharks in HD and DV
with Absolute Adventures since 2004. His footage has been broadcast
in Mexico to enhance the awareness of Great White Sharks and have
been used for on ongoing Great White Shark Research Program at Isla
Guadalupe. His photographs were recently featured in Advanced Diver
Magazine.
Kimel retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service and began
working as a Doctor in Clinical Psychology serving the Chronically
Mentally Ill since 1998. Kimel has been diving since 1994 and met
Chris in 1997, when they began diving together. By 2000 they married
and began taking underwater video and photographs. She shoots film
and digital photography in medium and large formats using the
Nikonos V and Cannon 5D (12.8 mega pixel camera). When Kimel isn’t
working, she takes time to travel with Chris to various places
around the world, capturing the underwater environment. Her pictures
have been used by Absolute Adventures, an ongoing Great White Shark
Research Program for Shark identification, and were recently
featured in Advanced Diver Magazine.
